This Privacy Policy describes how the State of Colorado - DFPC ("we", "us", or "our") handles data when you use the CloudTAK mobile/desktop application (the "App").

Our privacy philosophy is simple: We do not collect, store, transmit, or process any of your personal data.

1. How the App Works

CloudTAK is designed to act solely as a client interface. It connects directly to a server that is hosted, managed, and controlled entirely by you, your organization, or a third party of your choosing.

Because of this architecture, any data you input, view, or transmit using the App travels directly between your device and your configured server. It never passes through our servers, nor do we have any access to it.

2. Data Collection and Usage

  • Personal Data: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personally identifiable information.
  • Usage Data and Analytics: We do not track how you use the App. We do not integrate third-party analytics software that tracks your behavior.
  • Crash Reports: We do not automatically collect crash logs. If the App crashes, any diagnostic information stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to share it with us through your device's native reporting tools (e.g., Apple or Google crash reporting).

3. Device Permissions

To function properly, the App may request certain permissions on your device (e.g., Network/Internet access to connect to your server, Location services for mapping, or Camera access if you use a QR code to configure server settings).

  • These permissions are used strictly locally on your device to enable core app functionality.
  • Data accessed via these permissions is only transmitted to your custom-configured server and is never sent to us.

4. Data Security

Because we do not collect or store your data, we are not responsible for securing it. The security of your data depends entirely on the security practices, encryption, and configuration of the self-hosted server you connect to, as well as the security of your own device.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Because we do not have your contact information, we cannot notify you individually of changes; we encourage you to review this page periodically.
